1. Can I use compatible cartridges without voiding my HP printer’s warranty?

Yes, you can. It is against the law for any manufacturer to claim this as set out in The Competition Act of 1998. However, sometimes HP runs ‘firmware updates’, a type of automatic software update which can prevent your printer from accepting lower-cost cartridges that were not manufactured by HP. These updates can be avoided by turning off your printer's auto-update feature. If you believe you’ve already had an update that may be preventing compatible cartridges from working please contact us.

2. How can I recycle my used HP cartridges through Stinkyink?

You can help us to avoid plastic waste by recycling any HP cartridge we sell. There are two simple methods depending on the product you purchase. If you receive a freepost envelope with your order simply pop the cartridge(s) back to us using that when it’s empty. If you didn’t receive an envelope we can still help if you post it back to us. 3. What should I do if my HP cartridge isn’t recognised by my printer?

Occasionally, printers may not recognise a new cartridge immediately. The most common reasons include having purchased the wrong cartridge, placing it in the incorrect slot, issues with just one of several cartridges not being recognised, and dirt on the contact chip.
