This Samsung CLT-R659 Drum Unit is quoted as doing up to 40000 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

The SU418A is the same product as the CLT-R659, just with a new code, and will work in the same printers!
This is a genuine Samsung CLT-R659 Drum Unit.
This drum unit is one of the most important parts of your printer and should be replaced as soon as your printer alerts you.
The CLT-R659 drum unit applies the toner from your cartridges to the page, giving you your final print out. Once it is worn you will start to see faded prints with blank spaces appearing, not ideal for your print quality!
The drum is rarely replaced, and will last up to 80,000 black pages or 20,000 colour pages.
