Running CostThis value is calculated from manufacturer's estimates of how many pages a cartridge will print, and should only be used to compare cartridge running costs. Page yields are estimated using the ISO standard of 5% coverage on a plain A4 page, which is roughly the length of a short letter. |

I ordered 2 of these cartridges and unfortunately neither of them could be used in my HP Photosmart C4580 printer. The printer was giving an error message unable to recognise a cartridge. I got in touch with the sales department and they sent out two replacement cartridges which arrived the next day and are now working in my printer.
Excellent quality from the cartridge and very good after sales care.
Thanks for the great review, we are glad to hear the replacements are working well. We hope you have a lovely week :)

We are so pleased to hear that all is well :)
We hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Answered by Tara Ward (staff member) - May 26, 2021 10:54It worked for about 10 prints then the black ink start to smudge the entire page in every print, and all you can see is a black blob, no definition in letters or anything. Tried all possible cleaning but it seems to be a faulty cartridge. Absolutely rip off and feeling totally scammed!
We are sorry to hear you are so unhappy with the cartridge and we certainly don't want you feeling scammed in any way. We will contact you directly to discuss a replacement or a refund on your order.
Answered by Kirsty Barlow (staff member) - March 01, 2021 09:41Does the job well and good value,
Replaced black ink cartridge, and printing in black and white is fine, but the printer won't print anything in colour (all colour prints in black!) although the colour cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge and is full! A somewhat strange and unfortunate outcome. I can't imagine what is going wrong!
I'm sorry to hear that there is a problem with the colour cartridge.
Please double check that there isn't any protective film on the print head.
If this is free and clear it will hopefully help to run some cleaning cycles in the printer's maintenance menu.
Answered by Tara Ward (staff member) - August 24, 2020 14:36Use our 'Check this ink fits your printer' box at the top of this page to confirm this cartridge is suitable for your printer model. In most cases the model number is written on the front of your printer.
Note: These cartridges will only work in printers purchased in the UK and Europe. Printers purchased outside of these zones will have different coding and electronics.
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.
This is known as page yield. The number of pages you'll be able to print depends on the cartridge you purchase and the kind of printing you do. The page yields shown higher up the page are based on printing 5% of the area on an A4 page.
Learn more about how many pages you'll be able to print with this cartridge in this article.
No, you aren't able to use other cartridges alongside your HP Instant ink ones. Cartridges in the Instant Ink program have different coding, so whilst enrolled, you are locked into their service and must use their cartridges. Read our blog to learn more about HP Instant Ink.
If you choose a high-capacity (XL) version of this cartridge it will still fit in your printer. The size of the cartridge is the same, but they are just filled up more to provide you with extra prints, often at a substantially lower cost per page printed.
These are refilled HP cartridges which means they have been used once previously before being reconditioned and refilled with ink, making them a more environmentally friendly option that still provides the print quality you need.
As these are reconditioned HP cartridges, there is a small chance that ink levels will show the last level status. This does not affect the functioning of the cartridge, but should you have any queries, do not hesitate to contact us, or look at our Ink Reader Level Guide, should you need help.
Yes, these cartridges are just as easy to install as the originals. Make sure the required clips have been taken off, along with the clear (usually blue) tape that covers the metal panel on the underneath of the cartridge, and then slot the cartridge into your printer. Do NOT remove the brown tape that is connected to the contact chip. See our Refill Installation Guide for more details.
It's best to keep a spare, so you'll save money when buying 2 of any item.
These inks can be stored for 1 year without affecting performance + are covered by our money back guarantee to give you full peace of mind.
