I've used this paper before to print up and frame some of my i-pad drawings for exhibition and it certainly works well with the Canon Pro 9000.
I would certainly recommend it for others - I've only used genuine cartridges as my experience with using compatible cartridges so far has been bad, - not from Stinkyink though. I have a Dell inkjet A4 I tried them on and it was a waste of money. I would love to be proved wrong on compatible cartridges as I am a recycling officer!
I have never used Canon A3 Matte Photo Paper before, but I was asked by a customer to produce some photos specifically on matte paper. Being Canon through and through, naturally I turned to this paper.
However, the results were extremely disappointing, and yes, I did have my Canon Pro printer set correctly, and yes, I was using Canon inks.
Semi-gloss has always been my product of choice, so I will have to advise my client that if he wants quality results, I'll need to use semi-gloss paper, as I have always done in the past.
Not an issue with the retailer, but with the product.
Thanks for the product feedback. It's probably worth discussing your quality issues with Canon as I'm sure they'd be interested in the settings/combination you were trying to print onto the paper with to see if they could replicate the problem.
It's incredibly rare for someone to use genuine Canon paper and have a bad experience so they might be able to help you resolve the problem.
