A drum, or imaging drum/unit as you may also know it, is the part of the printer which prints the toner onto on the page from the cartridge.
The unit can process up to 18,000 pages before it will need to be replaced. It is important to do so, as and when the printer notifies you, to keep your prints at the best quality.
