This Samsung SCX-R6555A Black Drum Unit is quoted as doing up to 80000 pages before needing to be replaced.
The page yield is calculated by manufacturers using ISO/IEC 24711 standards, where they print set documents of 5% page coverage until the cartridge is empty. The standard means you can compare yields between cartridges and manufacturers.

Why does this toner have two product codes?
HP purchased Samsung's toner business in November 2017, taking the handy step of giving new codes to selected products.
The SV223A is the same product as the SCX-R6555A, just with a new code, and will work in the same printers!
This is a Samsung SCX-R6555A black imaging drum.
The drum unit contains a roller which is warmed up, this then takes the toner powder out of the toner cartridge and prints it on to the page. The page is then passed on to the fuser unit it where it is sealed to the page.
The SCX-R6555A black drum can product p to 80,000 pages so you won't need to change it as often as your toners but you will need to change it to keep everything in good working order.
The drum unit is packaged in its own box so it can safely be stored for up to 12-months without its quality performance being affected. Ideal if you want to order in advance.
