The LC227XL ink cartridges can be changed easily in no time at all. Open the lid of the printer so you can see the cartridges and then remove the empty cartridge/s. You can then get the new cartridge/s ready by taking it out of its packaging, removing any tapes and placing its cartridge slot inside the printer. Gently push the cartridge into place until it clicks in and then you can close the printer lid. As soon as the printer has loaded and tells you it's ready you can print again. Even better.. you can use this original LC227xl inks along with any other compatible or original LC223 or LC225 inks with no problems at all.

How much ink is in a Brother LC227 & LC225 Original cartridge?
We don't advise on the number of millilitres, as not every cartridge prints using the same droplet size, so two cartridges for two different printers may both have 5ml of ink, but one will print more than the other. Instead, more accurately, the industry standard is based on printing 5% of an A4 page.

If you choose a high-capacity (XL) version of this cartridge it will still fit in your printer. The size of the cartridge is the same, but they are just filled up more to provide you with extra prints, often at a substantially lower cost per page printed.
