Not content with producing some of the highest quality supplies in the market, which we heartily recommend from the entire range of hp ink cartridges, they just love to shoot themselves in the foot.
Whether they are busy misleading the public through broadcast advertisements, or publishing heavily-skewed data on their website, they sure do give me plenty to talk about and bring a smile to my face.
So imagine my excitement...
When I open my emails and see a new study into the performance of HP toner cartridges versus a cough fairly selected sample of remanufacturing alternative suppliers.... hmm.
Could they outdo their previous claims of 33%-41% failure rate. To the Stinkymobile!!
Then imagine my surprise....
This study was done brilliantly, removing any form of bias I could pick up on.
However, I still wanted to publicise these results as it really does highlight the importance of finding a quality guaranteed supplier, and the pitfalls of not being a careful shopper.

Conclusions based on
Sickeningly efficient definitions of "Suitable for all Uses" , "Limited Use" and "Unusable", with boundaries defined from "psychometric studies across a demographic cross-section of laser printer users".
Hats off to QualityLogic, that is a nigh-on flawless way to remove bias. I approve (should I minus the 'hmmm' count?)
The Results!!!
Not surprisingly HP swept the board, with better results in all 4 categories.
With no reliability issues encountered on the original toners, compared to 90 issues ranging in severity for the remanufactured, the results were conclusive.
What WAS surprising is HP published that 3% of their original toner sample pages did not meet the highest level!

Reporting that 3% of sampled pages from original toners did not meet the highest quality level is potentially the first "we're not perfect" comment I have ever seen from a manufacturer, and it is very refreshing.
In the past HP publicised 100% efficiency when we know quite different, and I don't know about you but personally I prefer someone who acknowledges mistakes but works to remove them!

I shall leave you with the most important piece of information.
None of our quality tested cartridges were contained in this study. It would be interesting for this study to be repeated with our version of the remanufactured hp 36a toner.
Looking at the returns and sales history, the performance of our remanufactured versions has a 98% success rate!
In the very few cases a performance problem was experienced a replacement was provided which rectified the issue. Not bad for a cartridge costing 40% less than the HP original!

Very nice try HP, and this study is much better than your previous attempts to knock the third-party cartridge market.
But you might want to try our cartridges next time, would definitely make the test cheaper to run for you.... :)
