This is a Konica Minolta DR-311 black drum unit, you may also know this part as an imaging unit.
The DR-311 drum unit is the part of the printer which takes the toner powder from the cartridge and prints it on your page in your chosen design, so it's a pretty important part. You won't need to replace the drum as often as the toners as it can produce up to 100,000 pages but you will need to change it when your printer tells you to to keep everything running smoothly.
