Stinkyink Themes

Photographic

Photographic is an awesome theme for Photobloggers and Photographers using WordPress! Using cutting edge CSS3 and HTML5, Photographic makes posting galleries easy and fun. You can also change the background colour or even add a background image using the built in Background tool. Photoblogging doesn’t get much easier than this!

Photographic has loads of great features including a magic sidebar that doesn’t appear unless you give it a widget allowing you to pick between a one-column or two-column layout with a simple bit of drag and drop!

Photographic is a free Open Source package distributed through the official WordPress themes site. The theme is licensed under GPL version 3. Photographic has been tested in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer. No guarantee is made as to it’s compatibility in older browsers (I’m looking at you IE6!).

Photographic is currently being reviewed by the WordPress moderation team and will be available to download soon!

This is really a great theme for photo or graphic bloggers/webmasters.

May I ask how it performs, both from an SEO standpoint as well as a speed (page load time) standpoint? I prefer themes that load very quickly and also are well optimized from the get-go. Mainly so I don’t have to bog everything down with plugins!

I appreciate your reply. Great job!

The theme is coded to be as standards compliant as possible, so all the pages have appropriate H1′s and title tags etc which should help with SEO. The titles use WP’s standard title format though, so you may benefit from adding an SEO plugin to give you more control over that kind of stuff.

The theme is coded with minimalist HTML5 and CSS3 so the page load time should be pretty fast. The thumbnail images are also resized server side at upload, so there’s no loading of oversized images or dynamic thumbnail generation on page load. That said, a caching plugin is always worth installing if you want to speed things up further.
