A couple of months ago we posted about one of our Stinkyink pens making it as far as Swaziland when one of our customers, the This Way Up youth project, travelled to Africa to help a community there.

This Way Up (or ‘TWUP’ here on in) works with children and young people who are struggling with grief brought on by such things as death, divorce, or separation, helping them come to terms and understand their own feelings through both group and one-to-one work, both in and out of schools.

TWUP have worked with hundreds of teens in fifteen different West Midlands schools through their programme, as well as training dozens of youth workers across the UK to help local groups continue their good work. On top of that, they travelled to Swaziland to train additional youth workers to help families affected by the HIV epidemic to recover.

We’ve heard from them again this week, and, in between talking about some of their recent good works, found out that they’re one of many charities taking part in The Big Give Quiz next month.

The Big Give is a third party group that helps charities to get greater publicity and to fundraise, and to help philanthropists find organisations to support. On October 3rd they will be running a quiz with all proceeds going to charities nominated by the entrants.

This quiz is being ran online, so it’s accessible to anyone with an internet connection, and will feature many non-traditional rounds and questions, to reduce the chance of cheating using Google!

Here at Stinkyink we believe firmly in businesses having a responsibility to the community, and so we support several local charities already, including a local youth club and alcohol project, the County Air Ambulance, our village’s youth cricket club, and the Royal British Legion.
