Konica Minolta wins Green Apple Award Dec 15, 2011 09:12 by Roy Hamilton

Konica Minolta has won a prestigious environmental award for its OPS Green Audit Process.

The printer ink and toner cartridges maker won the Green Apple Award for the programme, which reduces customer print fleets and volumes by installing improved efficiency devices.

Business can use the Green Audit Process to calculate the amount of energy, paper and toner cartridges used by their devices, and then use this information to guide carbon reduction strategies.

Mr Kobayashi, managing director for Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK, explained that the firm has developed a “holistic approach” to customers’ document workflow requirements, which encompasses “every facet of the process, including environmental impact”.

“Konica Minolta has a primary objective to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 20 per cent through the life cycle of its products in the financial year 2015 compared with 2005,” he added.

It comes as Ricoh wins the silver award in the Best Green Service Innovation category at the International Green Awards 2011 for its Sustainability Optimisation Programme.
