Kodak unveils new inkjet solutions team December 07, 2011 09:00 by Andy Warburton
Kodak has created a new business team to assist companies looking to implement a range of devices using printer ink. Called Inkjet Technology Partnerships, the team will help companies put in place solutions using its Stream Inkjet Technology.
The team will assist firms to access its Stream Inkjet Technology imaging subsystem and Kodak's knowledge of inkjet technologies and materials science.
"This business is part of our expanding portfolio in digital printing, and these new inkjet packages and interfaces make Kodak's imaging technology easy to drop into almost any solution our partners may be working on," said Ronen Cohen, general manager of Inkjet Technology Partnerships at Kodak.
Stream Inkjet Technology is already used in Kodak's Prosper Platform, such as 5000XL Press.
The device is capable of print quality rivalling offset output up to 175 lpi on uncoated, coated, and glossy papers ranging from 45 to 300 grams per sq m.
It is a full colour press that offers four-over-four perfecting with a print width of up to 24.5 inches (62.2 cm) at speeds up to 650 feet per minute (200 mpm).
