Canon hails award-winning year Dec 06, 2011 09:00 by Rob Williams

Printer ink manufacturer Canon has hailed what it says was an “award-winning year” in 2011. The firm was placed in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services Worldwide, while it also won PCMag.com Readers’ Choice awards for service and reliability for the eighth consecutive year for its printers.

Canon printers received seven Best Fall and eight Best Spring awards from BERTL for models from its imagePROGRAF large format printer, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction system, and imageCLASS printer product lines.

Meanwhile, the PIXMA MG8220 was named in the 100 Best Products of 2011 by PC World. In addition, the Canon PIXMA MX882 Wireless Inkjet Office All-in-One was named in PCmag.com’s Editor’s Choice for Multi-function printers.

Bunji Yano, senior director and general manager for corporate communications at Canon USA, suggested the awards are recognition for the firm’s drive to create “the highest quality and most advanced products and solutions, backed by the finest customer service”.

He added: “We are very proud to have received such distinctive awards across various product lines, which proves Canon’s dedication to exceptional quality and innovation.”
