HP has announced that it will make remote printing easier for workers in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry.
The printer ink firm has unveiled a new HP ePrint & Share mobile application for the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
According to HP, this latest innovation will allow professionals in the AEC sector to easily locate and access large-format plans on the cloud.
This will make it simpler for firms to share files, regardless of size or format, adjust layouts and create print-ready documents.
The new application will also allow users to print from any iOS-based device to any web-connected HP Designjet ePrinter, and will let them access any projects stored in the ePrint & Share library.
“AEC design professionals are highly mobile, constantly moving between the office, the job site and offices of partners and clients,” said Santiago Morera, vice president and general manager in Desinjet large-format solutions at HP.
According to HP, the new device can simplify document processes that are vital for businesses and provide them with a cost-effective system.
SPAN Architecture and Design have used the technology and stated that the application has been an excellent tool for its mobile workers.
Matias del Campo, principal at the company, said: “Using the HP ePrint & Share mobile application while we are on the go is a very powerful tool for us to communicate with all parties involved in a project, ensuring that the plans we are working from are the most current and keeping the design process flowing smoothly and efficiently.”
Recently, HP launched three new Scitex digital wide-format printer ink products to boost the productivity of print service providers (PSPs).
Included in the new range of machines is the HP Scitex FB7600 Industrial Press, designed to provide high-quality documents for consumers.
On top of this, the Scitex XP5500 Industrial printer was produced for high-volume PSPs and the Scitex XP2500 Industrial product offers low-cost solutions with high-speed print times for users.
