Dell expands its printer ink solutions and partnerships November 04, 2011 13:52 by Mike Derges

Dell has expanded its printer ink services range to simplify complex printer networks for various organisations.

The company claims its OpenManage Printer Manager is a powerful web-based software that helps improve the efficiency of document production solutions for firms.

According to Dell, businesses of all sizes can benefit from the technology to reduce equipment costs, improve employee productivity and review the status of reports on all network printers.

"At the end of the day, our job is to help our customers and their employees be more productive in their jobs," said Paul-Henri Ferrand, vice president and general manager of Dell Global Software & Peripherals.

"Printer tools such as Dell OpenManage Printer Manager enable this productivity and efficiency by helping businesses streamline document workflows," he added.

Furthermore, this new unified printer management tool is easy-to-use and has pre-configured alerts installed for fast response times to technical issues.

On top of this, Dell stated that it has expanded its partnerships with three best-of-breed document workflow solution providers Cortado, Perceptive Software and Nuance.

The new deals will offer consumers anywhere, anytime cloud computing services with secure device integration software.

Using Cortado, software customers will be able to let employees seamlessly print from any smartphone, tablet or IT infrastructure to a printer ink network.

Henning Volkmer, chief executive of Cortado, said: "By taking Cortado’s partnership with Dell to the next level, our solution can now provide Dell customers with mobile desktop integration equipped with superior security, while still enabling users to take full advantage of the true potential of their mobile devices."

Dell will also use Nuance's technology to help manage document workflows on multifunction printers to allow businesses to scan, organise and share documents with ease.

Finally, the new Perceptive Software partnership will let users protect their document lifecycles with enhanced regulatory features during print jobs.
