Kodak installs its 2,000th CTP printer ink system October 21, 2011 13:04 by Andy Warburton
Kodak's 2,000th newspaper CTP printer ink system has been installed at Inter Presse Offset (IPO) in France.
The Kodak GENERATION NEWS software was selected to improve services for customers at the site at La Depeche du Midi, in Toulouse.
According to IPO, the latest product will increase productivity and efficiency for clients including Telegramme de Brest, Nouvelle Republique du Centre Ouest, Sud Ouest, La Montagne and La Republique du Centre.
The new Kodak GENERATION NEWS system has replaced 12 CTP devices at the site for the group's regional dailies.
Pierre Delair, purchasing director at IPO, added: "We chose the Kodak GENERATION NEWS system for its high level of productivity.
"Also, switching from violet systems to thermal systems allowed us to reduce chemistry usage and waste treatment substantially. This was an important element in our decision."
Printer ink firm Kodak stated that its products have been designed specifically to help customers realise and differentiate themselves through better quality print productions.
Rinus Hoebeke, newspaper segment director for Europe, Africa and Middle East at Kodak, added that its CTP technology can help drive growth for firms and also generate new revenue streams for them.
Mr Hoebeke noted on its latest achievement: "As the leading supplier of CTP devices for newspapers globally, we are delighted that our 2,000 installations to date have been in every region for both large and small newspapers."
Recently, Kodak announced its continued expansion into the newspaper sector and stated that it would be showcasing its innovative CTP and Digital Printing Solutions at the 41st world publishing event IFRA Expo 2011.
The company added that people at the event in Vienna, running from October 10th until 15th, could see a host of technology including Kodak's COLOURFLOW Pro Software with its printer ink optimising feature.
On top of this, the company's PRINERGY Workflow System and its GENERATION NEWS Platesetter are also being showcased.
