Canon to use Oracle technology in its multifunctional printers October 04, 2011 10:21 by Matt Bird

Canon will install Oracle software systems into a range of its multifunction printer ink and scanning devices in 2012.

The two firms have teamed up to combine Canon's imaging technologies with Oracle's advanced applications.

Furthermore, the new products will include Canon's imageRUNNER ADVANCE systems that will be connected to Oracle's database, middleware, Java ME capabilities and Enterprise Resource Planning.

According to Canon, the latest advancements will help businesses streamline their scanning and printing processes by improving their efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Recently, Canon released two new wireless All-In-One (AIO) printer ink models for its PIXMA range of devices.

The company stated that its PIXMA MG8220 and MG6220 are perfect for users looking to produce high quality photo prints, scans and copies of documents.

Executive vice president and manager at Canon Yuichi Ishizuka, added: "We feel the upgrades made for these two PIXMA AIO models provide consumers with a host of new features without forgoing our high-quality output."
