Kent University invests in a Heidelberg Speedmaster printer ink product September 30, 2011 16:03 by Matt Bird

The University of Kent has invested in a new Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52-5 product to improve its printer ink services.

According to the institution, the latest machine will help the Design and Print Department produce a vast array of documents, including brochures, posters, exam papers, lecture notes and promotional material.

Customer accounts supervisor at the university, Damon Woods, said: "The majority of our work is four-colour these days and with the SM 52-5 we can produce quality four-colour work in a single pass.

"It is as good as a top-of-the range spectral measurement device and we think it will be a valuable tool in securing external, commercial work," he added.

Recently, Benedict's College added a new managed document service (MDS) from Ricoh to its institution to help control its 60 multifunction printer ink devices.

Terrie Campbell, vice-president in MDS at the firm, added that the company is excited to embark on the journey to help reduce the educational establishment's printer ink production costs.
