'Choose a reputable retailer' when buying ink cartridges September 22, 2011 16:58 by Matt Bird

Anyone who needs to buy new ink cartridges for their printer should think about the best place to purchase the items and always consider the reputation of the vendor, it has been advised.

Melissa Riofrio, writing for the PC World review site, noted that it is important for people who are buying ink cartridges to acquire them from a seller with a good track record, to ensure they are not purchasing counterfeit items.

As there are some nefarious vendors who send people bogus or imperfect ink cartridges, choosing a good one can be the difference between having a broken printer and not having one.

"It's about feeling comfortable with the vendor's integrity and accountability. Proceeding with caution continues to be the rule of the game," she added.

It comes after a new smartphone app called eSupplies was launched by HP so customers can be sure that the products they buy are legitimate HP ink cartridges.
