Canon's uniFLOW 5.1 to make mobile printing simpler September 22, 2011 16:58 by Matt Bird

Canon has launched its new uniFLOW version 5.1 printer ink system, designed to support document production from smartphone and tablet machines.

The company claims the latest technology will make it easier for staff in organisations to print and scan onto Canon's multifunctional devices from mobile products.

Nikki Paine, uniFLOW marketing manager at Canon, said: "Recent research found that over half of workers using smartphones can't print from their device, but want to.

"With uniFLOW v5.1, organisations can offer their staff flexible ways of working, including mobile printing."

The company claims that the latest platform will make cost controls and security measures on printer ink machines more efficient for users.

Canon recently released the imageRUNNER 1700 series, which it states can offer high-performance printing with speeds between 30 and 50 pages per minute.

On top of this, the machine comes in a compact chassis but also benefits from larger ink cartridges, meaning that the device can last longer and so reduces the need to refill regularly.
