Dell puts focus on 'commitment to the people and the planet' September 10, 2011 11:33 by John Sollars
Dell has unveiled its Corporate Responsibility report for 2011 and claimed that its focus is on building sustainable communities and protecting the planet.
The printer ink and technology expert said that its goal is to deliver the highest quality and most energy-efficient products with the least impact on the environment.
It noted that during the past fiscal year it has designed laptops and desktops which now use 25 per cent less power than they did in 2008, while the box sizes of shipments were also 11 per cent smaller than before.
Trisa Thompson, vice president of corporate responsibility, said: "Whether it’s through our green efforts or giving programs, our company gives back in many ways responsibly and with integrity. While we have made much progress, we have much more work to do to help people achieve their full potential and help us protect the planet."
Recently, Dell was named as the number one global healthcare information technology services provider for the second consecutive year by Gartner.
