Inconvenient Printers July 29, 2011 10:08 by Andy Warburton

I recently came across the popular web comic 'So you're a cartoonist' in which the author draws comics about his life as... you guessed it - a cartoonist!

This particular stip really struck a chord with myself and my colleagues here at Stinkyink:

The best part by far however is the fact there are two other comics in the series... here and here

As a company selling ink cartridges and laser toner you can probably imagine we hear this grumble from a lot of people. Many (including the cartoonist above) think that perhaps it's a conspiracy by the printer manufacturers. Our contacts at the printer manufacturers say this is actually not the case, the reason you can't print black when you are low on coloured ink is because the printer lubricates the print heads prior to printing and performing this action on an empty cartridge would cause damage to the head.

Of course... it wouldn't be a very good conspiracy unless they had a reason to hide behind... (Queue X-files theme tune).
