Konica Minolta printers praised for deinking properties July 28, 2011 15:22 by Huw Carrington

The ink cartridges used in Konica Minolta products have been praised by the International Deinking Industry Association for the deinkability of its printouts.

It recently carried out tests to find that five of Konica Minolta's PRO and PRESS series printers scored top results.

Deinking is becoming an essential part of the paper recycling process, as it involves removing ink or toner from recovered paper.

Pauline Brooks, UK product manager of production print from Konica Minolta, said: "A top test result like this is very hard to achieve. Most technologies are struggling to get it.

"The second positive assessment within a year confirms our commitment to protect the environment."

Each of the bizhub PRO C6000, PRO C7000 and the bizhub PRESS C6000, PRESS C7000/P and PRESS C8000 were all found to have excellent deinking properties.

Konica Minolta believes much of its success is down to the type of toner cartridges used in its products.
