US Department of Veterans Affairs seeks to make printer savings June 29, 2011 15:12 by Chris Rails

Lexmark has been awarded a contract by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which will see it providing a number of printers and toner cartridges.

In total, more than 20,000 Lexmark E, T and C Series workgroup monochrome and colour laser printers will be used across 260 VA locations all over the country.

All of the printers are expected to be delivered within the next 90 to 120 days, which the department hopes will lead to around $15 million (£9.2 million) of savings being made.

"Lexmark Government Solutions provides products, services and solutions that enable agencies to manage their data and documents more efficiently and securely while lowering costs and better meeting their output needs," commented Marty Canning, Lexmark executive vice-president and president of imaging solutions and services.

He noted that the laser printers provided by the firm will help ensure critical care services can be delivered to military veterans and their families.
