Kodak announces price rise for flexographic plates June 29, 2011 13:58 by Chris Rails

Increased manufacturing costs have led Kodak to announce it will be imposing a price rise of up to seven per cent on its flexographic printing plates as of next month.

The increase will be enforced across the world and is due to take effect on July 15th, with the exact rise to be determined by local market conditions.

Mohan Garde, vice -president and general manager of the packaging business and prepress solutions at Kodak, said: "The value that our plates bring to the market - high quality, efficiency, repeatability, and more - continues to make them a sound investment for flexo printers who desire the best possible results."

The company revealed that it had done all it can to absorb the rising costs over recent years by improving manufacturing efficiencies, but this has become no longer viable.

Earlier this month, Kodak revealed details of its Trade-In and Recycling Programme, which enables consumers in the US to recycle their electrical goods safely and responsibly.
