SMEs seek easy-to-use technology solutions June 23, 2011 11:58 by Chris Rails

Easy-to-use applications are more important for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) than Information Technology Infrastructure Library, a survey commissioned by Dell has discovered.

Integration with desktop management facilities was also found to be important for service desk users, although many of the 850 IT professionals questioned admitted to not having them in place.

"IT organisations of all sizes are continually graded on how well their 'tech support' optimises end-user performance and this research shows reputations are on the line here," explained Meinhardt, president and co-founder of Dell KACE.

This follows the announcement that Dell was opening its first Cloud Research & Development Centre in Dublin, with an aim to helping its customers move to cloud computing more efficiently.

Meanwhile, Limerick will be welcoming the first global Dell Solution Centre to help customers adopt more advanced services and solutions with ease, while also improving customer engagement capabilities.
