Kodak launches first Virtual Operating Environment option May 30, 2011 16:02 by Chris Rails
Kodak has joined forces with VMware in a bid to make its first ever Virtual Operating Environment option a success.
The service is available for Kodak Unified Workflow Solutions and is aimed at delivering significant cost savings to businesses, while also making operations more efficient.
Companies that sign up to the service will also be able to reduce downtime by signing up to an option that employs redundant servers.
Rick Walch, IT director for Colortek in St Louis, commented: "The Kodak Virtual Operating Environment enables us to scale our business to deliver growth while enhancing our operations from both a management and business continuity standpoint."
He emphasised that the technology was seamless to integrate and clients did not notice any difference once the firm shifted to the new system.
It was recently announced that Kodak had installed VERSAMARK VL2000 Printing Systems at Graficas Corona, making them the first colour printer ink systems of their kind in Mexico.
