Printer buyers 'must consider ink costs' March 31, 2011 08:53 by Chris Rails

The cost of ink cartridges is one of the most important things for people to consider when buying printers.

This is according to PC Advisor, which noted there are a number of variables when it comes to calculating expenses.

Having separate printer ink for each colour is beneficial, as this avoids having to replace every shade when one runs out.

Similarly, high-yield ink cartridges also help to reduce costs, the news provider continued.

When purchasing machines, people who plan to print a large number of photos should look for products that have full-page coverage factored into their total cost of ownership figures.

If individuals find they often run out of ink after producing big pictures, it is "almost certainly down to the gap between your expectations of being able to print photo after photo and the letter of the law when expressing page yields for ink cartridges", the website added.

PC Advisor recently recommended the HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One as a printer with excellent running costs and "decent" colour quality.
