Printers 'offer businesses opportunities to save money' Jan 31, 2011 16:53 by Chris Rails

Graphic designers and artists who want to reduce the amount they spend on ink cartridges and printers have been encouraged to consider a few money-saving options.

According to Patrick Egan of BusinessNewsDaily, firms that rack up high printing costs can find various opportunities to save.

For instance, he said companies could divide the cost of an ink cartridge by the amount of pages they expect to print in order to find the most cost-effective option.

Mr Egan also encouraged business owners to weigh up issues such as their ideal print speed, whether they need a standalone or network printer and if they should opt for a laser or an inkjet device.

He added that recycling empty ink cartridges could be a sensible move too, as there is no value in throwing them out with the rubbish.

"A business's next purchase could have an impact on its bottom line," Mr Egan commented.

The advice comes after Takeshi Osawa of Norinchukin Zenkyoren Asset Management told Reuters that global demand for office equipment is likely to go up this year.
