Large format printers 'becoming more popular' Jan 27, 2011 18:23 by Chris Rails

Large format printers that use Canon printer ink cartridges have proved very popular this year.

According to Canon, the number of digital print customers who purchased this type of device went up last year.

As a result, the company is keen to build on this and achieve further growth in the market during 2011.

Canon this week showcased some of its latest large format printers at the Sign and Graphics Imaging event in Dubai.

Vishal Gohel, spokesman for the company, said the show has given it a good opportunity to "cater for this growing market".

"We have an incredibly strong printer line-up in terms of technology, performance and range," he commented.

Mr Goshel added that Canon is an "innovator" in the digital professional print market that delivers products which meet its customers' needs.

The company's imagePROGRAF iPF6350 device was recently honoured by the Technical Image Press Association as the best large format printer currently on the market.
