It is not uncommon for people to work from home these days, so many of us are stocking up on items such as HP ink cartridges and printers ourselves.

However, everybody needs to work in a well-organised and efficiently laid out workspace, regardless of whether they are staying at home or commuting to the office.

Newsmax has just put forward its recommendations on how to design the perfect home office, and some are very practical and easy to achieve.

For example, it suggests buying a compact combined printer, which also includes a scanner and copier.

That's just one way of reducing the number of gadgets you need to invest in, which in turn cuts the amount of space they take up and their impact on your electricity bill.

Newsmax added that a working environment at home should be neat, tastefully decorated and free from disturbance.

This comes after ISP Demon Internet estimated that about one in six employees would do some work-related activity on their computer on Christmas Day.
