Print on both sides of the paper December 29, 2010 10:25 by Chris Rails

Users of cheap ink cartridges and printers have been handed a money-saving tip from Lexmark.

Businesses often don't realise just how much additional paper they are using when they print on only one side of the sheet each time.

But most printers today offer people the option to use both sides - which means you could reduce the amount of paper you fork out for by half.

When you consider just how much paper a typical office will get through in a year, this is a sizable saving and one that could go some way to boosting your profits.

Mark McCullough, marketing manager at Lexmark Canada, told the Globe and Mail this week that the double-sided printing option should be the default in offices across the land.

He added that businesses would still have the option of letting people "opt out if they must".

The UK economy may be widely tipped to keep growing next year, but we're still in times of austerity and companies would do well to respond accordingly.
