Valentines Day Competition - NOW CLOSED - Win A Lovely £50 Champagne & Chocolates February 09, 2010 16:00 by Matt Bird
Ahh Valentines Day... A day of Love... A day of Tenderness.... A day of far far too much of lifes gluttonous desires.
And a day for a competition you missed out on, better luck next time :-) Thank you for all our entrants, we are delighted to announce the winner as: Gerry Brown for his brilliant mix of the love and StinkyInk topics in his poem. Here is a copy of it for everyone to enjoy - see you in our next competition!
He thought his life was over, he thought his life was dead. Not seen her for 50 years tho still stuck in his head.
One day whilst on his lap-top the lonely silver surfer skimmed, with fading memories of his past love and old romance all but dimmed; found a fantasy website which offered, so it seemed, to find you all old friends, even those of whom you dreamed.
Type in her name and you will discover whatever happened to your old lover, don’t let your life be blighted, yes, yes, you 2 too can be reunited.
An offer on the internet can this possibly be true? This machine of chips and wires could it take me back to you?
Suffice to say with breathless anticipation and old balding head a sway; the silver surfer sighed with fluttering heart he nearly danced and cried when the pixels produced the prettiest girl in all creation.
Oh yes, they got in touch despite the years and miles apart and loved their fantasy computer communication. Messages of lost love found winged across the ether, soft thoughts and hard copies Printed off with gay elation.
A forest of paper, a book of life publish this reason for living Chapters of the past and yet for the future I think Reams and reams from this loving link Praise be the internet Thank God for Stinky Ink !!!
Brings a smile to the face it does :-) Thank you again for all entries and keep on the look out for our future offers.
Original Competition:
Us employees at StinkyInk are a sensitive bunch, and we thought it would be nice for a competition for the weekend to reward those soft at heart....
So, for the best Valentines Day themed poem we have commented on this post, the lucky winner will receive a lovely £50 romance pack of chocolate and Champagne! Treat those you love to some of lifes pleasures, all for breaking out your creative side and letting that romantic prose stream out....
It can be happy/sad... joyous/heartbreaking ... nice ending / sad ending.... as long as it makes us smile, go ahead! And for those dirty of mind, this is a family blog! (Though I do mediate it, you may brighten my day :D )
To start you off, I decided to write my own poem of a love tale never told before... One that Stefan often reminisces about. It has 2 endings, so depending how you are feeling this Valentines Day it can suit your mood :-)
StinkyInk's Poem Of Love
And oh my, it was love so strong
It was better even than Alan Partridge
And he’d lusted for him for so long!
But how could he get this lovely ink
So tender, so vivid, so bright
It was more gorgeous than the nicest pink
Never had he seen a prettier sight
So Stefans mission of love started
Showering the ink with gifts and love
Eventually they were never to be parted
And Stefan still says the Ink was a gift from God Above. | or | Until the Ink gave him the Shove

So this is how you spend your days....... not sure about the Stinky's Love Poem - isn't that a bit of an oxymoron??

I've sent a letter to my gent-
A letter 'cos I'm feeling blue.
My tone is bright, love lines I've sent
In ink that shows my colours true.
I'm dying for you, truth to tell,
So when I see you, dark and handsome
Standing there, I have to yell-
Oh, darling now my prince has come.

Please don't give me chocolates
Or take me out to dinner.
Just give me a hug,
And tell me I look thinner!!
( that was actually one we were given at our weightwatcher's class last night so I can't claim that it is original - but at least it's a cheap answer!! - make sure Huw sees it!)

I fell in love with my printer,
I wrote it a Valentine's poem of course.
But my printer said it was far too rude,
It was a bit of HP sauce.

Although you may not love me
Although you may not care
Forever should you need me
You know that I'll be there
I've never stopped loving you
I know because I have tried
And all the Oceans couldn't hold
The tears that I have cried
For when I loved my love was true
Unlike the love that came from you..

Precious
She lies in the sun on the cool patio stone,
She's the loveliest cat that I've ever known.
The sun shining through the leaves decorates
Her gold and brown fur with patterns of lace.
She slowly washes her paws, face and ears,
Then pricks them up at a sound that she hears.
She slowly looks up, too lazy to stir
As all around her the bumblebees whirr.

Dreaming !
What will he plan for our Valentines Day
I'm all excited to hear what he'll say
Will it be dinner or will it be wine
Or will it be both if we go out to dine
It could be chocolates or even perfume
Or even a ring to make my heart go boom.
Last year I got underwear black and kinky
This year he tells me its printer ink from Stinky!
A Reality Check - but it was nice to dream
With my ink I''m the cat that's got the cream.

All the tea in China
and all the jewels around
will never equal in value
the love that we have found
Our love has come from little
but deep within our soul
And I hope will last forever
for the short time we stole
To be together as one, forever,
would be my greatest pleasure,
to live & see & feel our love
my deepest greatest treasure.
But none of this can come from one
but can only come from two.
Which is why you have all my love,
as you gave me yours, my darling Sue.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Stinkyink's colours
Are clear and true
Obvious, but
You can't argue!
