Industrial Action affecting Royal Mail June 25, 2007 14:52 by John Sollars
As you are probably aware the Royal Mail are in dispute with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) over a raft of issues. As a result the CWU have had a massive mandate from their members to take industrial action. Their plan is a series of one day strikes with the first one planned for this Friday 29th of June.
Here at Stinkyink.Com we think that the Royal Mail provide an exemplary service. They deliver right across the United Kingdom at a flat rate and from monitoring that we have undertaken on our own shipments 98% of them are received the next day.
We hope that the Royal Mail and CWU will see sense and resolve their dispute, however we are planning for the worst. Our Carrier Interlink Express will not be affected so if your order is urgent please select the 'Carrier' option when you are checking out and your order will be shipped as usual. If you select 'Royal Mail First Class post', then we will process your order on Friday as normal, but have been informed that our local sorting office will be shut all day Friday. They are open as normal on Saturday morning, so I will take all our Fridays orders into the sorting office on Saturday and hopefully they will get into the system and delivered on Monday - however we obviously cannot guarantee it.
Regarding Special Delivery items, this is from the Royal Mail Website:
We will attempt to deliver Special Delivery items, but this cannot be guaranteed, and so the money-back guarantees on these services will be suspended for items posted on Thursday June 28th and Friday June 29th

I can promise that my team and I will do everything in our power to minimise any disruption to our business and hope that the Royal Mail/CWU teams can resolve their differences without inconveniencing anyone else
