Top spot for Oki in A3 colour sales? May 23, 2007 14:27 by John Sollars
Oki Printing Solutions is claiming an early victory over rivals HP and Xerox in A3 colour printer sales. The data from researchers at IDC have not yet been released to the public, however, preliminary figures show that Oki are likely to be in second place, beneath HP but above Xerox. Nevertheless, Oki's PR claims that the vendor has already moved to the top spot in ten countries across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Region. Whether they are first or second, Oki are proving to be true contenders as they tackle their competitors head on.
"To say we are pleased is an understatement. This is the result of a huge amount of work and investment from our partners across the region and we're now positioned to really get going and go for number one spot. The products are winners, the team at Oki is driven and customers truly appreciate the sound advantages that Oki's products offer them," said John Ross, general manager of Oki Printing Solutions.
The A3 colour market is a steadily growing segment of the printing industry, which is currently dominated by laser A4 colour and inkjet multifunction sales. With the final IDC figures on the market value of the A3 colour segment yet to be released, Oki still has to redouble its efforts if it is going to make a larger dent in the laser A4 colour market.
